1. Seek to be paid on RESULTS, not TIME

If your goal is to become wealthy, you want to work toward being compensated based on your
results, NOT your time.
The old adage of go to school, get good grades, get a good job, get a steady paycheck, be on time,
work hard, etc….and you’ll live happily ever after…is from the Book of Fairy Tales, right after the
Tooth Fairy story.
2. Getting a steady paycheck almost always means NOT getting paid what you’re worth, pure and
simple.
If you want to be “poor”, be paid a steady salary or an hourly wage. That gives you the “security” of
knowing exactly the same amount of money is coming in at exactly the same time, month in, month
out.
Rich people prefer to be paid on the results they produce, if not totally, then at least partially. They
usually own their own business in some form and make their income from their profits. They work on
commissions or a percentage of revenue. Notice there are no guarantees with any of these things…in
the financial world, rewards are generally proportionate to the risk.
Rich people believe in themselves. They believe in their value and in their ability to deliver. Poor
people don’t. That’s why they need “guarantees”.
Poor people trade their time for money. The problem with this strategy is that your time is limited. You
will assuredly break the first rule of wealth, which states: “Never have a ceiling on your income”. If you
choose to get paid for your time, you are pretty much killing your chance to ever be truly wealthy.
The solution is to either own your own business, work on commission or get a percentage of revenue
or company profits. Whatever your vehicle, make certain you create a situation that allows you to be
paid based on your results.
Anything less than that, you’re cheating yourself and working for less than you’re worth.
