Finally, you are on your site visit: There are several things that you must do in order to ensure prompt reimbursement upon your return. Boarding passes are essential to the receipt process for the University of Maryland. I know that many airlines now allow you to print boarding passes online then take the boarding pass from you upon boarding the airplane. Therefore, we ask that if you do print boarding passes at home, print out two copies – one for the airline, and one for the University of Maryland. Keeping your receipts is very important to being reimbursed. Keep all itemized receipts – that means taxi, parking, rental car, airline receipts (if you have any), and your hotel final bill. You do not have to keep meal receipts, however. We pay per diem. This is calculated around the time of day you depart and arrive. For example, if you leave for your site visit at 6:00pm, we will not pay you per diem for breakfast and lunch on that particular day. The University of Maryland pays $8.00 for breakfast, $10 for lunch and $21 for dinner. The university will not reimburse you for the purchase of any alcoholic beverages
