Siginon Group
About Us:
Siginon is an African word derived from an indigenous –all weather-tree,
found in Kenya. Descriptively, the Siginon tree is composed of deep
roots, a strong wide trunk with an extensive canopy of ever green foliage
providing a large shade. This tree offers refuge from the harsh elements
be it the scorching sun or pounding rain in the tropical and at times
unpredictable climate in Kenya. The Siginon tree is considered a blessing
among the communities wherever it is present.
Similarly, the Siginon group has deep roots
spanning over 25 years in the logistics and air
cargo handling industry. We have grown from
strength to strength to where we are today.
Our passion is to be Africa’s leader in logistics
and air cargo handling. We are committed to
continuously seek opportunities which will
enable us to spread our wings further and
undertake movement of cargo in the entire
Africa continent. Ultimately, wherever there is

The Siginon story begins in 1985 in the
port city of Mombasa in Kenya, as a humble
transport company comprising of 2 trucks
and a workforce of 4 staff. Today, Siginon
boasts of a workforce of over 500 staff located
in 4 cities and 1 town in Kenya, Tanzania and
Uganda. The business has expanded to offer
our customers total solutions tailor made for
their unique cargo and logistics; needs be it at the sea port of Mombasa or the
airports of Mombasa and Eldoret in Kenya.

Sea Freight
Our sea freight service offers our customers efficient safe, secure and cost
effective solutions. We are conveniently located adjacent to the port of
Mombasa assuring you of quick processing of your cargo from the port. Our
membership with World Cargo Alliance (WCA) enables us to pick and deliver
your cargo in major ports across the globe.
Our wide experience in sea freight gives us confidence to assure our customers
of customized, flexible, fast and efficient sea freight coupled with tailor made
rates to ensure value for the customer.
Clearing and Forwarding
Siginon Global Logistics offers cost effective and timely clearing and forwarding
services both for sea and air shipments in Mombasa and Nairobi. We provide the
full range of customs clearing and international freight forwarding services. Our
international freight forwarding services are supported through our membership
to WCA World Cargo Alliance - a network of independent forwarding logistics
companies from all continents.
Experienced Customs Clearing personnel are available in all Siginon offices to
assist you with tariff classifications, audits and detailed costings. We have adopted
business processes and systems that interphase with third party systems notably
the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Customs ERP and that of key airlines. Our
personnel maintain daily contact with the related Government departments,
while Siginon’s online platform interfaces with the relevant authorities allowing
for the completion of customs clearance processes in the shortest possible

clearance and freight forwarding.
Siginon Global Logistics
Airfreight
Siginon Global Logistics understands that our
customers demand safe, secure and swift handling
of their cargo at cost effective rates. We offer our
customers these unique services at the Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi and
the Eldoret International Airport (EIA) in Eldoret.
Our partnership with World Cargo Alliance (WCA)
provides us with access to freight forwarders from
all over the world. This ensures that Siginon offers
our customer door to door delivery as we are able
to pick and deliver cargo in various worldwide
locations.
Our association with leading global airlines in both
our Nairobi and Eldoret airport terminals means that
we are able to gain space and provide airfreight
services at very competitive rates.

Warehousing
We offer our customers modern, spacious
and secure warehousing options in Nairobi,
Mombasa and Eldoret that meet your unique
needs. Our facilities include storage of cargo
in cold rooms as well as in general, transit and
bonded warehouses.
In Mombasa, our warehouses are fitted with
railway sidings for storage of inward and
outbound cargo that goes by rail. We are fully
equipped with forklifts (normal and clamp),
hand jacks, ladders, weighing machines fitted
with rollers for ease of loading and off loading
and fitted scissor jacks.
Siginon warehouses provide excellent solutions
in third party logistics (3PL). In Mombasa, our
warehouses’capacity are 136,000 square feet,
Nairobi are 45,000 square feet and Eldoret
7,400 square feet. We have a further 40,000
square feet of open storage space available
adjacent to the Siginon Nairobi and Mombasa
complex.
Our warehouses are secured 24 hours a day
with CCTV surveillance, security personnel
and manager within the premises. We pride
ourselves in having zero pilferage at our
warehouses and assure our customers of
security when they store their cargo at Siginon.
The Siginon team is qualified in handling
dangerous goods. Our staff undergo frequent
training and refresher courses in DGR cargo
handling procedures.

Transport
Siginon boasts of a vehicle fleet of over 200
trucks in Nairobi, Mombasa and Dar es Salaam.
Our fleet meets high international safety
standards and our drivers are guided by our
policy at Siginon of‘Safety First’. Our drivers
have undergone training in defensive driving
making us amongst the safest transport team
in the Bamburi-Lafarge safety monitoring
program.

All our trucks are fitted with GPRS tracking
systems which enable tracking of cargo as it
is moved from one point to another. All our
drivers adhere to high road safety standards
contributing to incident and accident free,
efficient and timely transportation of cargo.
Our fleet comprises of; expendable trailers,
tippers, tankers and low loaders, cranes,
forklifts and car carriers for standard and out of
gauge cargo.

Kencont Container
Freight Station (CFS)
Siginon operates a customs
bonded terminal operation in
Mombasa known as KENCONT
CFS which is located 1.5
kilometers from the port of
Mombasa and serves both
import and export, local and
transit containerized cargo as
well as vehicle cargo. It also has
cargo machines such as reach
stackers available for lease.
KENCONT CFS handles the following local and
transit cargo:
• Vehicle and machinery
• Project and out of gauge cargo
• Commodities such as grains, relief cargo,
sugar and palletized and bagged or in break
bulk form
• Consolidated cargo including vehicles in
containers and personal effects.

Shipping – Sea
Siginon is licensed as a shipping agent in Kenya.
We provide receiving, loading, discharge and
delivery of motor vehicles, container Ro Ro and
specialized cargo such as bulk and steel. We
further can arrange for door to door movement
of project freight. Previously, we have acted as
the shipping agent for Balaji Shipping Line and
we bear close affiliations to Transworld Shipping
Group. Through our shipping division, we
handle all shipping line requirements including;
Agency, Quayside and mechanical bagging of
grain, procurement and discharge/stevedoring
operations in the port of Mombasa.
Stevedoring
Siginon Ports prides itself in providing
professional Stevedoring services combined
with a dedicated and knowledgeable team. Our
experience and thorough understanding of
operations at the Port of Mombasa, enables us

Siginon operates 2 air cargo handling facilities
in Kenya. Siginon Cargo Centre (SCC) is our air
cargo handling facility located in Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi while the
Siginon Eldoret Cargo Centre is located in the
Eldoret International Airport in Eldoret.
The Siginon Cargo Centre provides you with
an air cargo terminal that assures you of the
security of your cargo to and from the aircraft
and onwards to the final destination. With our
experience spanning over 15 years, we provide
professional ground handling services for cargo
aircrafts. Our online cargo system‘Cargo spot’
enables speedy, efficient and accurate cargo
handling as well as real time cargo tracking for
our customers.
Siginon Aviation
Siginon Cargo Center continues to attract and partner with leading international
airline customers. We have previously served as the GSA for Gulf Air. At Siginon’s
Eldoret Cargo Centre, we are the handling agent for Emirates and Egypt Air.
To ensure our service standards meet global standards in Safety, Siginon Aviation
is an IATA certified ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) service
provider. This is our commitment to our customers, to ensure quality service in an
environment that is safe and secure.
