Early years of riding attended SFA – little or no relevance to MC
Around 5 years ago on a ride where our best friend as in a near fatal accident, had profound impact on me
Approached St John and became an instructor – goal to talk about MC awareness
Not able put enough meaningful/rider specific material due to tight regulations St John have over course content & guidelines
Led me to develop this course
Riders saying they don’t need a certificate or to spend a full day learning generic first aid they want rider specific training to give them skills and confidence at an accident scene
COURSE DURATION
Take 3 short breaks, ask you to keep to the 10 minute break as we have a lot to fit in and want to finish on time

Practice through common accident scene scenarios
Assess CPR, bandaging and most importantly helmet removal to ensure correct technique and head, neck spine maintains “in line” alignment
Lot of what you learn in FA is common sense – today my goal is to reinforce many things you would naturally do and teach you some new skills
At the end of this course you will have gained the skills needed to manage an accident scene and provide first aid until emergency services arrive
