On Site
This model is similar to a secondment,
but with more consistency and our
stamp of quality. The LOD lawyer
works as part of your team for
designated days each week, usually
in your office. Our daily, weekly
or monthly rates compare well with
more rigid employment options.
On Call
This model is suitable when
you need more flexible support
on your projects, whether from
individual lawyers or a virtual
team. Each LOD lawyer is part
of your team but works remotely
as you need them. The cost is
based on a competitive daily
or hourly rate and you can agree
to cap any time spent.

Our lawyers will integrate swiftly
into your team. They have

of confidentiality. LOD lawyers
are part of your team and so we
do not have access to the material
worked on by our lawyers for
you. We have a confidentiality
agreement with all our lawyers
which applies alongside their
usual professional obligations.

LOD was founded in 2007
by Simon Harper (formerly
a BLP equity partner) and
Jonathan Brenner (ex-BLP
head of recruitment).
The idea was to help legal
teams manage changing
workloads more efficiently
and to offer talented lawyers
an alternative way of working.
Since then, we have carried
out more than 300
assignments, won multiple
