For your lesson in WW II History, I have attached a PDF file.
1) The first is a picture of my father after the war with me,
Robert, and younger brother Larry. It was taken shortly before
he was found hanging in the Apple tree, behind us in the photo,
by my brother David Henry Edwards Jr. on his way to the out-
house, also behind us in the photo. David Jr. was 18 and quickly
joined the Marines, retired after 20 years as a Master Gunny
Sergeant and served in Vietnam.
2) The second is an item found in was wallet which he signed
April 15, 1945 which swore him to secrecy as to what went on
as a POW.
3) The third is the Western Union Telegram my mother received
on January 12, 1945 that my father was MIA since December
16, 1944 which was the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge.
(On the 70th anniversary of the BOB I began posting
messages/email on USAA.com)
4) The fourth is the Western Union Telegram that my mother
received on March 2, 1945 that the Red Cross reported that my
father was a POW.
5) The fifth is the Western Union Telegram that my mother
received on April 25, 1945 that my father has returned to
Military control and is being returned to the United States.
6) My father's Honorable Discharge.
7) My father's enlisted record ...
8 My father's separation qualification record.
9) item 8 continued.
Need I remind USAA yet again, that April 2015 is just around
the corner, the 70th anniversary of my father's Stalag IVB POW
camp liberation.
2. I am 65 years old, my father killed himself almost 60 years ago.
I remember that day quite well as well as the years earlier of
my father. The day before he killed himself he played hide and
seek with me and my brother Larry around the lilac bush to the
right of the Apple Tree that is in the picture of us. I remember
his burial at Sandy Valley Cemetery that include a military rifle
salute and the handing of a flag to my mother.
The seven sons of David Henry Edwards all served in the
military. We are the Great Grand Nephews of George Crawford
Platt, Congressional Medal of Honor Winner in the Civil War.
A lawsuit will be delivered upon USAA for my pain and suffering.
USAA failed to do its duty by promptly providing Mindy Thomas
POA documents as a result of the October 23rd, 2014 Court
Order.
