3. To investigate which material (foil, plastic
bag, newspaper and woolen socks)can
hold the heat longest.
4. I think the newspaper is the best
insulator.
I think the silver foil is the 2nd best
insulator.
I think the plastic bag is the worst
insulator.
6. 1. Get ready 4 bottles , a thermometer, foil, plastic
bag, newspaper and woolen socks.
2. Wrap the materials around the 4 bottles with tape.
3. Pour hot water into the bottles.
4. Put the thermometer into the bottles.
5. Check the temperature after 5 minutes.
6. Check the temperature after 10 minutes.
7. Check the temperature after 15 minutes.

9. In this experiment, I observe that each materials
temperature is different after every minute.
My hypothesis was right cause’ the newspaper was
the best insulator, and the plastic bag was the
worst insulator.
10. 1. Since the newspaper is the best insulator it can
hold the heat the longest.
2. I have learned that different types of material can
have different type of temperature.
3. I learned that if you want to keep the heat you
must use thicker and darker materials.
4. I learned that not every type of material can keep
heat from getting away.
