About the Show First season of Top Shot, a reality TV show on the History Channel 16 contestants, split into 2 teams, competing in various shooting challenges The team that loses the challenge that day has to nominate two members of the team to compete in a challenge and the loser of that challenge is sent home Once at 7 contestants, no teams, everyone for themselves
2. Who made themselves relevant and how? Iain Harrison, the eventual winner of the show, displayed great leadership throughout the series Upon the teams first lost in the 4th episode Iain made it clear that he wanted to be nominated for the elimination challenge despite his excellent performance in the team challenge This showed his confidence in his own abilities therefore making himself relevant in the show
3. Who made themselves relevant and how? Peter Palma, the contestant who made it the furthest from the red team, also displayed great leadership and adaptation Using his experience in the marines Peter was able to assist teammates with guns they were unfamiliar with He also made sure to make good friends with everyone on the show and not to step on anybodies toes thus allowing him to make it far in the show
4. Did they demonstrate productive ways to build teamwork? On the blue team, Iain was kind of the leader because he had a military background with a lot of experience. On every team challenge the blue team planned out exactly what they were going to do. On the red team, Peter wasn’t necessarily the leader but, his experience and military background provided him a lot of knowledge that was key to everyone working together and getting things done
5. What did I learn from this project? While communication in a team environment is very important, it is not always easy to communicate clearly and concisely
