Et cependant des yeux, j'en connais de plus beaux
Qui voudraient sur mes pas promener leurs
flambeaux,
Mais leur éclat répugne à ma mélancolie.
Les uns ont la chaleur d'un ciel oriental
D'autres le mol azur des lointains d'Italie
Mais les siens me sont chers ainsi qu'un ciel natal.
