LO: Explain the
reasons for the
success of Mao
and the CCP in the
Civil War 1945-49.
The Communist State
In groups draw up a table
that outlines what economic,
social and political problems
faced the Chinese people
and their new Government in
1949? Use p.28 to help you if
needed.
The second part of this topic examines how the CCP
pursued continuous revolution and how successful this
was. This is not easy as ‘success’ can depend upon one’s
perspective. It will also consider the role and influence of
Mao Zedong and changes after his death.
What were the
communist aims and the
new constitution. Use
your text book (27-29)
complete the question in
the workbook on ISLE.
Homework TIMELINE This is the
other major task too.
Timeline – Ensure your
timeline is up to date,
complete and as
detailed as possible.
There will be a test on
this next lesson!
