Dr. Alice Wemaere spoke at the Environmental Protection Agency DCU Water Institute Conference on November 28th, 2014 about boosting the value of water innovation for Europe. The talk discussed developing long-term partnerships to improve efficiency of research and development programs, empower actors and partners, and strengthen international collaboration beyond the EU. Joint calls were conducted in 2013 on emerging pollutants and 2014/2015 on issues like water distribution and reuse, floods and droughts. The Water JPI provides increased visibility, networking opportunities, input on strategic agendas, and funding through its joint calls.
