Ariette is filling Annette in onher plans. There’s to be no morewasted evenings hangingaround the Street.. She’s goingto make some proper friends.Useful friends.
She sunk some of their insignificant savings intobuying a horse. It wasn’t a thoroughbred, butno one else needed to know that.
Annette named the horsePeps. She wasn’t botheredabout her pedigree, onlythat she had her very ownmilk white horse.
She enjoyed learning how to look after Peps, even mucking out the stable wasn’t too bad a task if you knew it was making your horses surroundings nice and clean. But hanging out in the clubafterwards wasn’t her cup oftea. She felt awkward. But she was looking forward totomorrow. That was when she’dmeet all the other kids whowent to the stables, and she’dmeet all their horses too.
Megan dropped by early thenext morning, but Annette hadto turn her away. She had herwhole weekend planned aroundher new club.
Megan calls on her fall-backfriend Malika, but she’sbusy having quality familytime with her parents.
Bored, Megan hangs outwith her mum, who’s happyto let her daughter readbusiness management booksas long as she’s quiet.
The books were dry, butthey gave Megan anidea. She abandonedthem for the internet, and was soon mutteringto herself as sheresearched her new idea.
Soon, she was set up outsidethe house and ready for herfirst punters. She was startingout with muffins, but hadbigger plans on the horizon.
She worked all her charmson passers by, determinedto create a strong, loyalcustomer base. She wouldneed them later on whenshe switched commodities.Right now, she was workingthe ‘cutesy’ angle.
When Ariette shut her down for not having abusiness permit, she stormed indoors,Annette hot on her heels to apologise forher mum. Ariette remained outside, whenshe and Warren had a heated ‘discussion’about the future of her muffin stall.
Trinity Darkstone was desperate to getmore serious with Edward Poe, but sheis thwarted at every step. He doesn’tmind being seen in public with her, butdoesn’t want her to know where helives, ‘just in case’.
She finds his lack of trust upsetting, and alittle insulting. She isn’t one to open upemotionally, and she was really puttingherself out there for this guy.If he couldn’t trust her with his address, washe as serious as she was?
The problem was, Edwardwas like smoke. There wasnothing about him on theinternet, no postal addressat city hall… it was as if hedidn’t exist. And he madeshe she left first on anydates. She couldn’t evenfollow him home.
