  • 1. TRANSPORTATIO NEROSION DEPOSITION Coastal Processes
  • 2. carrytransport DEFINITION Wave carry or transport eroded materials along its journey The eroded materials are called ………. Sediments
  • 3. By now, You should already know the four ways how river transported its load. Note that transportation process in coastal areas are the same as the transportation process in the river
  • 4. •Larger particles like boulders and rocksroll or slide along the river bed by thestrong river flow.
  • 5. •Smaller particles like gravels and stonesare lifted and dropped along the river, sothey bounce along the river bed in ahopping motion.
  • 6. •Finer particles such as clay, fine sandand silt are carried along the river withoutcontact with the river bed.•Because the river water is moving, thefine particles or loads are almost able tofloat, and they are suspended in themoving water.
  • 7. •Dissolved materials containing mineralslike limestone rocks are slowly dissolvedby rainwater and are carried away by theriver.•This type of transportation is difficult tosee with the naked eye but they are in thewater.
