HOPA is a non-profit patient organization in Hungary established in 1998 to help decrease fragility fractures and improve quality of life for osteoporosis patients. It has 25 chapters across the country supporting over 2000 patients. HOPA focuses on health education and lobbying efforts, and organizes various programs and campaigns around prevention, early detection and management of osteoporosis. Major events organized by HOPA include educational forums, role-playing workshops for patients, and programs for World Osteoporosis Day.
