These are a series of presentations about Slavs tribes and Serbian nation. I tried to give a basic information about an underestimated tribes and nation, without any intention to cause offense. I apologize for the non-literary language, because I do not know English so well.
2. South Slavs settled in the Balkans, they fought with the
surrounding nations, and each other, from Byzantine
missionaries received the first letter, and converted to
christianity. Were they able to develop authentically culture?
- The missionary work of Cyril and Methodius continued their
students. Fleeing attacks of Bavarian bishops, and their work
continued among the South Slavs.
- Among them, the prominent missionaries were Clement and
Naum. They spread christianity, opened the monasteries and
schools. Clement made easier Slavic alphabet - cyrillic. They
translated books into cyrillic, in order to close christianity to
the people.
- Cyrillic are accepted by Serbs, Macedonian Slavs, Bulgarians,
and was used in Serbian Bosnia and coastal areas with Serbian
population.
3. - Among the Croats and people of the northern Adriatic coast,
glagolitic was used to modern times, as the letter of people. It
was used by the priests while the Catholic church did not begin
glagolitic persecution, because she insisted on Latin (just like
today). Glagolitic remained ethnic characteristic of Croats.
- The most important achievement of the Slavs was a literacy.
It has enabled development of literature and culture of the
Slavs. Initially, the church books are transcribed in the
language of the Slavs, and later they created the original literary
works.
- Initially, a Slavic alphabet could be used on a wide Slavic-
European territory, because the languages have a lot of
similarities, but over time some nations entered a new
authentic elements in a common language. The name for one of
these versions is the oldslavonic language.

5. -The most important monument of the Serbian cyrillic is
Miroslav’s Gospel, from the late 12th century. The
importance of manuscripts is also miniatures in which the
text was decorated.
- Culture of the early Middle Ages, among the Slavs has a
strong religious character, and it is in the service of the
church needs. Most of the preserved material remains are
churches and monasteries. In relation to the construction of
the ancient world, the architecture of the early Middle Ages
is humble and simple. Art and craft skills are reflected in the
fresco paintings (pictures making in the fresh mortar) and
painting miniatures in manuscripts (highlighted first letters
of the text in gold and strong color). Manuscripts had, like
everything else, a religious character.
