Grand Rapids Public Schools Current Need
 One of the goals of In-the-Bag is to help
teachers supply their classrooms and
students without having teachers spend
their paychecks in order to do so.
 Being a Title I district with a Universal
Free Breakfast and Lunch program makes
In-the-Bag an even more valuable
resource for students and their families.
In-the-Bag Delivers:
 Funding for In-the-Bag will be provided by
two primary sponsors while others will be
given a chance to provide funding through
onsite and online sources.
 Distribution of the In-the-Bag backpacks
and school supplies will be conducted by
volunteers through Volunteers of
America.org and other local organizations.
How Can This Happen?

In-the-Bag Will Deliver:
 Reduced student drop-out rates
 2% in year 1;
 5% in year 2; and,
 10% in year three
 Increased Title 1 funding passed to students
 by 5% in year 2; and,
 8% in year three
