Symptoms that tell if an animal has been abused
• Wounds
• Limping
• They look really thin and seem to have not eaten in days.
• Dog chained and left alone with no food or water outside
• Animals that do not act friendly and fear people when they are being touched or even
approached

How to prevent all of this?
Speak up! We are their voices, they can't talk for their self. Just like when a person is bullying someone
some else speaks up for them. If you see it happening anywhere near where you live or where ever you
may go you should take the time to call the ASPCA.

Like the puppy mills. A puppy mill is when a dog is kept locked up only to breed and make money
from. It cruel and horrible for a dog to just stay in a cage for all it's life only to be use to make puppies
that get sold to a store. They are given no freedom, food that is consider healthy, and become sick
living in a dirty cage. This type of cruelty has to be stopped! And this is how.
• Instead of buying puppies online which do often come from the puppy mills, you can adopt a
lonely starving puppy looking for love at a shelter.

Why do people even start abusing an animal in the first place?
When a person abuses the animal they are not doing it on purpose. Someone of them don't even realize
what they are even doing. How is that even possible? Can't they tell they're hurting them by kicking,
hitting, burning, stabbing, and choking them? People just think to get respect they must punish them,
and think these things can solve their problems.
But these are not the only reasons why someone would abuse an animal
A lot of times young kids are abusing animals too. They mostly do this because of peer pressure and
some kids take it as something to show off to their friends. Beating an animal to look tough, is stupid.
No one not even children should take beating an animal is a way to show off their self. Someone of
these kids are too young to realize what they are doing is wrong, and haven't fully understand the
responsibility that comes when taking care of an animal.
And finally the people that beat animals just for the fun of it, and gladly enjoys it.
They do this for control, to have power over their pet and tell them who's boss. There are times when
someone would beat an animal to give an example of what will happen to the person they really want
to beat. Like a Husband beating a dog to show his wife to listen to him or else this will be you.
There are some owners that would use a dog to kill another dog to show they have power. The people
that do all of this those have problems that may have resulted in their childhood like being abused by
their parents or being bullied by his or her peers.
