  • Manipulation of skin The steps I took to manipulate the skin and make it look like it has an airbrushed effect on it.
  • Uploadoriginalimage.
  • Duplicatelayer byclickinglayer, duplicate layer
  • Selectthe spothealingtool
  • Select thearea youwould liketo fix. Suchas a faceblemish.
  • This slideshows theblemishgone afterbeingfixed.
  • Selectthe QuickSelectionTool
  • Using the +and – toolsat the topleftbar, selectanddeselect thearea youwant tomanipulate.
  • Create anew layervia copyof the skinselected.
  • Once thelayer iscreated, turnthe otherlayers ‘eyes’off to see theselected area.
  • Duplicatethis layerX2 sothere isthreeopenavailable.
  • Clickfilter, blurand addGaussianBlur onlayer 1Click on thefirst layerthat youcreated(Layer 1)
  • Change theradium toapproximately2.2 pixelsthen click ok.
  • This layershould nowseem moreblurry than thelast.
  • Turn thebackgroundcopy layerback on tosee the faceas a whole.
  • Clicklayer, layerstyle, blending options tochange thestyle of thelayer.
  • Change theblend modefrom normal toHard Lightthen click Ok.
  • This is theeffect that youwill get on theimage once thehard light hasbeen selected.i
  • Turn the opacity downto approximately 36%.This will then show inthe image. The imageshould still lookslightly orange.
  • For the secondtime go to thelayerstyle, blendingoptions.Click on thesecond layer.
  • Repeat changingthe blend mode butthis time set it toLighten.
  • Again thereis adifferencewithin theimage as theorange isnow lighteron the skintone.
  • Turn theopacity down toapproximately75%
  • Repeat clickingthe blendingoptions.Click the lastand final layer.
  • Change theblend mode.This time toLinear Dodge (add)
  • This layercould look veryextreme oncethe lineardodge isclicked. This isnormal.
  • Turn the opacitydown as far asyou need to tocorrect the skincolour.
  • Before And After Manipulation As you can see the skin manipulation is fairly clear as it looks smoother and the blemishes have now appeared gone.
