The Kenya Writers Guild was officially established in August 2014 to:
 Bring together writers of audiovisual works in order to meet their
collective professional needs.
 Encourage international standards of story development of
audiovisual works through workshops.
 Improve the quality of storytelling on film, television and theatre.

Officially registered membership is currently 26 consisting of:
 Screenwriters
 Radio playwrights
 Theatre playwrights

 Membership fee (currently)
 Sponsorship through partnerships in progress
 Production fees via a CMO structure (from 2016)
