Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have helped increase food production and medical care for the growing global population, according to the author. While no known health risks exist, some argue GMOs could disrupt nature's food chain. The author created a lesson on genetic engineering for sophomore students, including a PowerPoint presentation and quiz, to teach what genetic engineering is and how it is used.
