5. ā¢ Draw a circle on your paper.
ā¢ Select 6-8 things that you consider most
important in your life
ā¢ Slice your circle into as many priorities as
you have chosen and assign each to a part of
the circle
7. ā¢ Now, in the middle of each slice, add a dot to
signify how fulfilled each of those priorities
in your life. If it is very fulfilled, put the dot
along the circumference. If it is less fulfilled,
put it closer towards the circleās center
11. Urgency v. Importance
Urgent ā something that demands immediate
attention, often associated with the achievement of
someone elseās goals
Important ā something that has an outcome that
leads to the achievement of your goals
12. How would you prioritise these?
ā¢ Write five more pages for paper due in
five hours
ā¢ Raise 5 EPs on myaiesec.net
ā¢ Catch up on latest episode of Australiaās
Got Talent
ā¢ Friend needs help with math assignment
due tomorrow
13. Urgent + Important
ā¢ Something unforeseeable or seriously
procrastinated
ā¢ Complete ASAP
ā¢ If you have multiple at once, should
reanalyse your scheduling habits
14. Urgent + Not Important
ā¢ Can schedule time when later available
ā¢ May be able to delegate them
ā¢ Say āYesā to person, āNoā to task
15. Not Urgent + Important
ā¢ Should allocate plenty of time for these
ā¢ Should plan in advance
ā¢ Do it, but not when there are urgent
things
16. Not Urgent + Not Important
ā¢ Distractions - avoid when possible
ā¢ Can be useful for taking breaks, when
within reason
ā¢ Other people may present you with non
urgent, non important issues as well
19. #Funtimez
ā¢ Take a piece of paper and, holding it
horizontally, divide it into four equal
pieces.
ā¢ When I say go, write down the phrase:
āMultitasking gets more things doneā in
one box, and when you finish, write the
numbers 1-30 below it.
20.
21. #Funtimez
ā¢ Now, still write the phrase āMultitasking
gets more things doneā in one box, but
for every letter you write, write a
number in the box below it.
24. Bored?
ā¢ Take a short break! Something that does
not require a whole new train of
thought.
ā¢ Break down tasks into smaller things on
your to-do list.
ā¢ Plan ahead better!(Rethink that episode
of Game of Thrones)
25. Refer back to your Life Pizza
ā¢ What are the three areas that you feel
least fulfilled with?
ā¢ Write down action steps for each one with
activities you will complete in order to get that
point closer to the outer circle
ā Can you make these points more fulfilled
without drawing away from your other values?
ā¢ Are there any ātime eatersā you have that are not
related to the areas that are important to you?
Editor's Notes
The more even the wheel is, the more balanced and fulfilled you will feel. Having too much focus on one and not on the other will detriment all aspects of life. Circle should also be big ā balance is not good if everything is unfulfilled!
Take a step forward for every one that applies to you:-
Failing to keep a to-do list
Not setting personal goals
Not prioritizing
Failing to manage distractions
Procrastination
Taking on too much
Thriving on ābusyā
Multitasking
Not taking breaks
Ineffectively scheduling tasks

Not to say other peopleās goals arenāt important ā but you must be smart about how you allocate time to your tasks, and to others so that you can achieve what you set out to do.
