This document outlines a proposed workshop for unemployed adults to help develop job seeking skills. The workshop would incorporate emotional learning styles and address the emotional challenges of job seeking. It would provide instruction on techniques for job searching, completing applications and resumes, interviewing, and assessing personal strengths and weaknesses. The one-day workshop would be held at Ball State University and seek grant funding to cover costs and make it free for attendees. Experts reviewed and provided feedback on the initial syllabus, which was updated based on their recommendations.

2. The main purpose of this project is to create a job-seeking
skills workshop for adults who are unemployed.
The focus of this project is to incorporate emotional learning
styles into the design of adult learning.
3. LiteratureReviewProgramInvestigations
Too much emotion leads to learner shut-
down, while too little leaves learners
unengaged.
Positive and negative emotions affect how
the student is able to comprehend and learn.
A physical reaction is possible when emotions
are high or low and that this connects with
brain and mind.

Features that influence learning :
› Setting
› Convenience
› Self-directed learning
› Group learning.
4. High unemployment rates in the US,
particularly in Muncie, make jobseeking
an emotional task and many jobseekers
are not all that well versed on how to
succeed in looking for employment.
Addressing how to fill out a job
application, write a resume, and
interview might help alleviate some of
the stress in one’s employment search.
5. Seek grant funding through Indiana
Workforce Development Office to cover
expenses of the workshop.
Grant would cover costs for instructor
facilitation, food, registration fees, and a
working lunch.
Workshop would be free of charge for
attendees to avoid additional financial
burden on jobseekers.
