Editor's Notes

  1. Work place violence has grown at a alarming rate over the last two decades. In the research that has been studied in the last couple of decades the above mentioned have been consistently been the tenets of all WPV situations
  2. When looking at any kind of violent act, you must look at aggression. Aggressions are usually split in two methods macro, and micro. when looking at WPV situations we are usually looking at micro aggressions that can result into macro aggressions. When looking at violence we usually split that into Active, passive, direct, physical, verbal and indirect.
  3. When researching and exploring the subject matter. I never really perceived WPV to be as complicated as it is. I also discovered I had a limited perspective on WPV because of what I have seen depicted through the media.
  4. I believe the following are tips to reduce and prepare for WPV and can help eliminate or reduce the situation before it hits the volatile tipping point,
  5. I state this equation on the final slide, because I do not think WPV would exist if we followed the equation in our work and personal life. If we give individuals the human dignity they deserve, and give compassion even when they don’t deserve it. We ultimately find peace( ie; community, connectivity) If we use this principle as the method to deliver the golden rule a large portion of work place issues would be solved.
