3. World leaders have drawn inspiration from Bible stories
for thousands of years, and there is plenty to be
absorbed from the wide range of deeply developed men
and women throughout the Bible. Ordinary people in the
Bible often are challenged to do extraordinary things,
and business leaders today face similar challenges in
the modern world.
4. Drawing inspiration from Genesis 12, we meet
Abraham, who is directed to travel away from everything
he knows into uncharted territory in pursuit of the
promised land. High-risk investors and venture
capitalists often face similar situations. Moses set an
example in Exodus 3, when he defended the freedom of
his native people who had been enslaved, effectively
sticking up for the little guy. Finally, Samuel 17
introduces the leader to David, a small but brave boy
who takes on the nine-foot Goliath without fear and
emerges triumphant. Business leaders may draw from
that story a sense of confidence and strength in the face
of the impossible.
