2. Week One Community Development
Residence Hall: Resident Assistant:
Requirements
Activity/Interaction Date/ Check
Attend/hold your first hall meetings on Thursday and Sunday night with your ARD.
During your floor meeting talk to your residents about how to talk with each other
about noise and inappropriate behavior.
Hand out roommate agreement to all rooms in your hall.
Complete your Eyeball Roster sheet by checking in with each of your residents and
obtaining their signatures by the deadline.
Spend one hour every day with your room open. Consider having candy/affirmation
for anyone who stops in.
Continue to visit resident’s rooms and demonstrate your sincere interest in them.
During your first one-on-one meeting with your RD or ARD discuss and turn in two
hall programs for the semester.

3. September Community Development

Make sure to welcome any new residents to your community as room changes have
started. Introduce yourself to everyone by 9/1.
Remind residents about the last day for a meal change.
Continue to check your mailbox in the Residence Life office daily.
Complete September Quality Visits.
Follow up with any residents that have not yet turned in a roommate agreement to
you and meet with them to complete the document. This is due 9/8.
Remind residents about the last day to add or drop a class.

Eat a meal with a resident or support one of your residents in their extra-curricular
activity (sports, clubs, etc.).
