3. ďśMISSIONARIES OF CHARITY:-
ďMother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta India, in
1950.
ďFor over 45 years, she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying,
while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India
and then in other countries.
ďMother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity at the time of her death had 610
missions in 123 countries including hospices and homes for people
with HIV/AIDS leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and
family counseling programmers, orphanages and schools.
ďśNOTABLE AWARDS:-
ďShe received numerous awards including the Nobel Peace Prizein 1979,
and the Bharat Ratnain 1980, but was also criticized for defects in her
charity work.
4. MARIE CURIE
(7 November 1867 â 4 July 1934)
ďMarie Curie was a
Polish physicist and chemist
famous for her pioneering research
on radioactivity.
ďShe was the first person honored with
two Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry.
ďShe was the first female professor at
the University of Paris, and in 1995 became
the first woman to be entombed on her own
merits in the PanthĂŠon in Paris.
5. ďśACHIEVEMENTS:-
ďHer achievements included a theory of Radioactivity techniques for
isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two
elements, polonium and radium.
ďUnder her direction, the world's first studies were conducted into
the treatment of neoplasms, using radioactive isotopes.
ďShe founded the Curie Institutes in Paris and Warsaw, which remain
major centres of medical research today.

6. DHIRAJLALAMBANI

textiles conglomerate and one of the 3
privately owned Indian companies in
the Fortune 500.

7. ďDhirubhai started off as a small time worker with Arab merchants in the 1950s and
moved to Mumbai in 1958 to start his own business in spices.
ďAfter making modest profits, he moved into textiles and opened his mill near
Ahmedabad.
ďHe founded Reliance Industries in 1958, and today, the company, with over 85,000
employees, provides almost 5% of the Central Government's total tax revenue.
Ambani was credited with introducing the stock market to the average Indian investor,
and thousands of investors attended the Reliance annual general meetings, which were
sometimes held in a football stadium, with millions more watching on television.

Mukesh and Anil. After his death, the group was split into Reliance Industries Limited,
headed by Mukesh Ambani, and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group
