News: 'Pot Noodles' Radio Advertisements Banned As "Sexually Aggressive" page 1

Radio advertisements for Pot Noodles have been branded “sexually
aggressive” and unsuitable for children by the Advertising Standards Authority
[ASA]. Four complaints from the public were received, despite the campaign
having been cleared for broadcast by the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre
which had considered the sexual references to be “oblique”. The ASA found
that the adverts breached the advertising code because they were sexually
suggestive and inappropriate for broadcast at times when children could be
listening. An earlier Pot Noodle TV campaign encountered similar problems for
using the tag line 'the slag of all snacks.'

News: 'Pot Noodles' Radio Advertisements Banned As "Sexually Aggressive" page 1 ©2005 Grant Goddard Radio advertisements for Pot Noodles have been branded “sexually aggressive” and unsuitable for children by the Advertising Standards Authority [ASA]. Four complaints from the public were received, despite the campaign having been cleared for broadcast by the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre which had considered the sexual references to be “oblique”. The ASA found that the adverts breached the advertising code because they were sexually suggestive and inappropriate for broadcast at times when children could be listening. An earlier Pot Noodle TV campaign encountered similar problems for using the tag line 'the slag of all snacks.'
