2. When I was a young lad my
mother would call out
“David, time to COME in now.” I
learnt to respond to that call, for
if it came a second time I was in
trouble. Today children call it
grounded, and then it was called
“getting the slipper.” When Mam
said, “Come,” I better go.
3. In the Word of God the word
“Come” is used more than 3000
times.
When Jesus used the word
“Come” He is inviting a person to
come and join Him in a certain
place or activity. NOTE, Jesus is
already there! It requires faith to
act upon such a command.
4. Let us look at one time where
the Lord used the word
“Come,” and what He is
teaching in the use of that
word!
5. POINT: “COME IN,” INTO THE
ARK = SALVATION,
GENESIS 7:1 “Then the Lord said
to Noah, “Come into the ark, you
and all your household, because
I have seen that you are
righteous before Me in this
generation.”
6. A. The Ark is a type of
Salvation.
1. God designed it.
Genesis 6:14-22. By Noah
following that design he
guaranteed safety for
himself and his family.
7. 2. God designed salvation.
2 Timothy 1:9 “Who has saved us and
called us with a holy calling, not
according to our works, but according
to His own purpose and grace which
was given to us in Christ Jesus before
time began.”
“In this is love, not that we loved
God, but that He loved us and sent His
Son to be the propitiation for our sins”
1 John 4:10.
8. 3. It only had one door.
Genesis 6:16 “You shall make a window
for the ark, and you shall finish it to a
cubit from above; and set the door of
the ark in its side. You shall make it with
lower, second, and third decks.”
The camel used the same door as the
tiger.
The donkey used the same door as the
lion.
The dog used the same door as the cat.
9. 4. Jesus is the Door of
salvation.
John 10:9 “I am the door. If
anyone enters by Me, he will
be saved, and will go in and
out and find pasture.”
10. 5. Man must act upon God’s
invitation to salvation.
John 3:16 “For God so loved
the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have
everlasting life.”
11. B. The Ark was safety for all
who were in it.
Are you in the Ark of
Salvation? God said, “Come.”
When He says, “Come In,”
you should come.
12. POINT: “COME NOW” MATTHEW
11:28 “Come to Me, all you who
labour and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest.”
“For He says: “In an acceptable
time I have heard you, and in the
day of salvation I have helped you.”
“Behold, now is the accepted time;
behold, now is the day of
salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2.
13. We sing:
“Are we weak and heavy laden?
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou will find a solace there.”
14. Jesus says, “Come” to the bereaved.
He says “Come” to the down
hearted.
He says “Come” to the discouraged.
He says “Come” to the outcast.
He says “Come” to the weary.
If you have a burdened soul, He says
“Come” to you. When Jesus
says, “Come unto Me,” you had
