This document discusses diversity in education. It addresses the importance of understanding issues related to diversity, culture, and minority groups in order to become a better teacher. Diversity involves more than one group, and teachers should promote tolerance. Multicultural education takes multiple perspectives and is important for all students. A positive school and classroom climate makes all students feel safe, respected and able to learn. The document also discusses social justice, freedom of speech, white privilege, and ongoing issues of inequality in education that need to be addressed. Hope in education is important to work towards resolving injustices.

It is time for parents
to teach young
people early on that
in diversity there is
beauty and there is
strength.

• Why is there still so much inequality in the
education system?
• Why is there a gender imbalance in science?
• What will happen when the minority and
main stream trade positions if the current
injustices are not addressed?
• What is the future trend of technology in
education?

Editor's Notes
Meritocracy: good things happen to those who deserve it, work hard, "play by the rules”, etc.
