2. WHAT IS A TITLE SEQUENCE?
A Title Sequence is the way films or television programs present
their title, key production and cast members, or both, using
conceptual visuals and sound. It usually follows but should not be
confused with the opening credits/sequence, which are generally
nothing more than a series of superimposed text.
A title sequence should include:
Film Title
Actor's Names
Producer
Director
Production Company (Logo)
Distribution Company (Logo)
Editor
Composer/ Supervisor of Music/Sound Designer
Costume/Production Designer
Cinematographer/ Director of Photography
Screenwriter
3. WHAT IS AN OPENING SEQUENCE?
In films or television programs the opening credits/sequences are
shown at the very beginning a teaser/ brief scene, that helps to
set the stage/scene for the episode or film.
An opening sequence should include:
An Establishing Shot/ ELS to set the scene
Introduction to the characters and the relationship with the
film/program
The plot/narrative
The genre to establish the mood in our case it would be the
thriller genre
Music and sound to contrubute to setting the scene
Lighting also to establish the mood
A range of different camera shots
