2. We want to present you our little country..NEMOLI,in Basilicata a region in the South of Italy! Nemoli was like a wood,and so his name “Nemoli” derives from Latin,it means “Bosco” (Wood). It was inhabited by Phoenicians . Nemoli for many years,depended on Rivello; but in 1833 Nemoli became Indipendent. Today Nemoli has a population of 1620. It is known specially for his delightful of Lago Sirino and Ramiera; In Ramiera we find evidence that in the past there was a thriving craft industry. Now we want to talk about our traditions and we want to show you some photos of our little lovely NEMOLI !!!! GOOD VISION!!!

5. Xmas fire,is a big bonfire that the night of Xmas Eve is lit by an old Nemolese man. It’s made with large trunks that in the past were dragged from the kids of country. The fire remain on until Epiphany, it becomes a meeting point for Nemolesi that the night of 24 th December warm themselves and wait for Xmas Mass, while through the street spreads the sound of bagpipes and the smell of “zeppole”, the typical dish of Christmas period in Nemoli. 7. The festival of polenta in Nemoli, is an ancient tradition that takes place on Shrove Tuesday. Every year the festival begins early in the morning with the preparation of polenta, To prepare polenta, you have to mix water and cornstarch and then season it with tomato sauce .About 5 pounds, topped with a sauce made with sausage, bacon and ground red pepper. The polenta is served with excellent local wine to people who arrive in the country. POLENTA
9. As in many other countries, the procession of Corpus Domini in Nemoli is characterized by the drawings along the path with flower petals. During the procession the children, carry a lighted lantern.
11. The one and July 2 Nemoli is celebrated in Our Lady of Grace, the saint patron of the country. The first day there’s a market, in the evening sound a complex. On the second day in the morning, the band plays for the country, then there is the Mass, the procession in the afternoon, in the evening an there’s a show of an orchestra and at midnight there is the show of fireworks.
