The financial results for the 1st quarter of fiscal 2015 have been posted by Apple
and they have knocked all competition out of the park.
Apple has reported the largest quarterly profits ever made by a public company
at a staggering $18 billion. The company has knocked Russian natural gas
company, Gazprom, off the top spot.

With the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices, Apple followed the smartphone crowd by
introducing larger screens.
Succumbing to the larger display demand has worked wonders as thanks to the
latest iPhones, Apple sold more phones than in any previous quarter.

4. 2. BREAKING IN TO THE CHINESE MARKET
Back in 2013, iPhones became available through China Mobile, the world’s
largest mobile network but it appears the impact of that deal is only coming into
fruition now.
700 million of China Mobile customers had the option of upgrading their phones
to Apple’s iPhones.

CUSTOMERS
Following the hype surrounding their launch, unsurprisingly the iPhone 6 and 6
Plus have seen the highest number of 1st time customers since the original
iPhone was released in 2007.
Many believe the latest iPhone is the most complete smartphone to date,
encouraging new customers to abandon Android and Windows Phones.

The biggest selling point of the iPhone 6 is its camera.

For the 1st time, Apple gave its customers a choice when it launched a choice of
2 different sized iPhones. The keyboards can be customised and widgets can be
added to home screens.
Apple has recognised the impact of customer selection and will continue this with
its new Apple Watch, which comes in variety of designs.
