1. Food Safety Manager and HACCP Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, maintain and update facility Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program
(pre-requisite and HACCP Plans) to ensure compliance with existing or changing regulatory
and business unit requirements
• Writes and updates SSOPs, SOPS, and company policies concerning food safety,
occupational safety and food security
• Support manufacturing with continuous improvement efforts and take lead on executing
various initiatives to improve the quality and safety of our process and products
• Responsible for accomplishing and implementing all the requirements to satisfy 3rd party
audits concerning food safety for the facility
• Participating in third party audits
• Conduct tasks with CFIA inspectors at the plant on a day to day basis and ensure all
corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
• Schedule and conduct monthly GMP, internal and external audits with cross-functional team
and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Chairs and documents Food Safety Committee Meetings.
• Responsible for scheduling and leading Monthly Food Safety Meeting, and HACCP meetings
• Provide front line leadership and support to all manufacturing facilities in execution and
enhancement of Food Hygiene and QFS systems such as HACCP, sanitation, thermal
validation, environmental monitoring programs and all other Preventative Controls and
Prerequisite programs
• Manages and assures that all raw materials, process parameters, sanitation procedures, and
finished products comply with Company standards. Participates in the development of
ingredient specifications and requirements
• Ensures new employees receive food safety (GMP), CCP monitoring and other HACCP SOPs
and occupational safety orientation training upon hire and continuously throughout the year as
required
• Participate in the development of training materials for team members in the areas including
noncompliance, metal detection, cGMP’s, HACCP, sanitation procedures, net weight, and
sensory attributes.
2. • Provide managerial and technical leadership to corporate Quality Assurance staff in the areas
internal product auditing, ingredient and packaging material quality, document control,
hold/trace/recall systems, sanitation and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in follow up and issue any corrective actions, if necessary, based on deviations found in
plant process or resulting from customer complaints
• Maintains corrective action tracker data base to ensure continuous improvement activities
cited from internal and external audits are acted upon and remain on track
• Oversee process for product hold, trace and recall. Coordinate with all company functions that
play a role in the recall process to ensure understanding and readiness. Coordinate mock
recalls to ensure Company process meets expectations. Through various department
personnel assures that HACCP plans are fully implemented and monitored for all processing
lines. Audits plant processes to ensure compliance.
• Ensure that manufacturing and distribution sites have adequate pest prevention programs and
work to support contractual requirements.
• Responsible for the implementation and documentation of the Pest Monitoring Program.
• Performs inspections of interior pest monitoring stations.
• Performs and documents thermometer calibration checks, packaging material inspections,
sanitizer checks, verifies daily and master sanitation schedules.
• Ensures that the water portability test is accomplished. Maintains all files pertaining to the
documentation of programs
