2. Probiotics are described by the
World Health Organization
(WHO) as a group of live
microorganisms that when taken
in adequate amounts can cause
beneficial effects to its host.
The term “Probiotics” literally
mean for life.
Danactive probiotic is produced
by a company called Danone. It
is a probiotic which comes in the
form of a yogurt drink.
3. The standard formulation of Danactive probiotic
includes sugar (sucrose), milk
(fresh/powdered), live yogurt cultures, and a live
strain of Lactobacillus casei which amounts to 10
million per 100 mL bottle.
Other cultures included in this product are
Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, Streptococcus
Thermophillus.
It comes in several flavors such as
Apricot, Blueberry, Coconut, Multifruit, Orange, O
riginal, Raspberry, Strawberry, Strawberry &
Banana, Vanilla. Fat Free: Original, Peach &
Mango, Raspberry, and Strawberry.
4. 1. Lactobacillus Casei
A species of Lactobacillus which is
commonly found in the human mouth
and intestines.
According to studies, this has a wide
range of temperature and pH. This
complements the growth of L.
Acidophillus.
Have been found to have a beneficial
effect in preventing the growth of
Helicobacter Pylori. This makes it
essential in maintaining digestive health
since it can help to defend the body
against gastrointestinal diseases caused
by pathogens like H. Pylori.
There are also trials which showed that
it can aid in treatment of antibiotic
associated diarrhea and Clostridium
infections.
5. 2. LactobacillusBulgaricus
One of the most commonly
used bacteria for the
production of yogurt and is
found naturally in fermented
food.
The bacteria was first
discovered by a Bulgarian
doctor, Stamen Grigorov. He
found out that this bacteria
feeds on lactose. Then, it
produces lactic acid which is
utilized in the production of
milk.
6. 3. Streptococcus Thermophillus
Another bacteria which is a
lactic acid bacterium.
Also, it is commonly used in
yogurt production and found
in fermented foods too.
This species of streptococcus
is beneficial in people who are
lactose intolerant. This is
because it can help in the
digestion of lactose.
7. 1. Vitamins and Minerals that are present in
this yogurt:
Vitamin A
Vitamin D
Vitamin B complex like riboflavin
Calcium
Phosphorus
8. 2. The Danactive probiotic yogurt is low in fat.
Most people have problems in keeping a low
fat diet. With the intake of yogurt, there is
only about 5g of fat per serving.
An adequate and proper amount of fat is
essential in any diet. Yogurt is also beneficial
because it contains protein as well. Protein is
vital for the healthy functioning of muscles as
well as for skin and bones.
9. 3. Better digestive health
Yogurt undergo the process of fermentation. In
this process, about 20 to 30 percent of the milk’s
lactose used is converted to lactic acid.
Most yogurts contain the bacteria called ß-
galactosidase. This makes it easy for lactose-
intolerant people to digest lactose.
Also, the texture of the yogurt makes it more
suitable for digestion. This is due to its thick
texture that makes it take longer to move
throughout the digestive tract. With this, lactose
is broken down more efficiently.
10. The incorporation of probiotics into dietary
products such as yogurt is a great
advancement in the health industry. This is
due to the discovery of strains which are
helpful in digestion, especially those who
have lactose and casein intolerance. The only
issue is the quantity of probiotics tends to be
very little and cannot easily fight off a serious
infection. It is good for maintenance of your
health, but if you are sick I believe
supplements are a better route to go than
sticking with yogurt. Even the best yogurts do
not contain much beneficial bacteria.
11. Probacto is the best probiotic that I
have ever run into. They use multiple
strains and they are spore forming
so they can last while not
refrigerated. They do not use cheap
bacteria, but expensive ones such as
B. Subtilis.
Probacto also contains prebiotics to
help stimulate the growth of
beneficial bacteria in your gut.
Probacto contains digestive enzymes
to assist in your digestion.
Probacto is enteric coated and made
to be slow release so it will release in
your gut gradually.
