  • Go and tell My servant David, ‘Thus says theLord: “Would you build a house for Me todwell in? For I have not dwelt in a housesince the time that I brought the children ofIsrael up from Egypt, even to this day, buthave moved about in a tent and in atabernacle. Wherever I have moved aboutwith all the children of Israel, have I everspoken a word to anyone from the tribes ofIsrael, whom I commanded to shepherd Mypeople Israel, saying, ‘Why have you notbuilt Me a house of cedar?’” II Samuel 7: 5 - 7
  • ‘Who is left among you who saw this templein its former glory? … In comparison with it,is this not in your eyes as nothing? … I willfill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord ofhosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold isMine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory ofthis latter temple shall be greater than theformer,’ says the Lord of hosts. Haggai 2: 3 - 9See! Your house is left to you desolate. Matthew 23: 38
  • So the Jews answered …“What sign doYou show to us, …?” Jesus answered andsaid to them, “Destroy this temple, and inthree days I will raise it up.” Then theJews said, “It has taken forty-six years tobuild this temple, and will You raise it upin three days?” But He was speaking ofthe temple of His body. Therefore, whenHe had risen from the dead, His disciplesremembered that He had said this… John 2: 18 - 22

  • Jerusalem
  • Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, In His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King. Psalm 48: 1, 2
  • Now it shall come to pass in the latter days, that themountain of the Lord’s house shall be established onthe top of the mountains, and shall be exalted abovethe hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Manypeople shall come and say, “Come, and let us go upto the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the Godof Jacob. He will teach us His ways, and we shallwalk in His paths.”For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the wordof the Lord from Jerusalem. …They shall beat their swords into plowshares, andtheir spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall notlift up sword against nation, neither shall theylearn war anymore. Isaiah 2: 2 - 4
  • Now Solomon began to build the house of theLord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where theLord had appeared to his father David, at theplace that David had prepared on thethreshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
