Now Solomon began to build the house of theLord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where theLord had appeared to his father David, at theplace that David had prepared on thethreshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell inthe land which the Lord your God is giving you toinherit … then there will be the place where theLord your God chooses to make His name abide.There you shall bring all that I command you: yourburnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes … Deuteronomy 12: 10, 11Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenantof the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary ofthe temple, to the Most Holy Place … And it cameto pass …that the house, the house of the Lord,was filled with a cloud … the glory of the Lordfilled the house of God.   6. 6. Then the Lord appeared to Solomon bynight, and said to him: “I have heard yourprayer, and have chosen this place forMyself as a house of sacrifice. When I shutup heaven and there is no rain, orcommand the locusts to devour the land,or send pestilence among My people, if Mypeople who are called by My name willhumble themselves, and pray and seek Myface, and turn from their wicked ways,then I will hear from heaven, and willforgive their sin and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7: 12 - 14
