    1. What the Player wishes to achieve.  ◦ Main goals  Winning! ◦ Sub-Goals  Shiny things ◦ Sense of purpose. ◦ Reason to go on.
    2. Something that impedes the player’s  progress. Example:  ◦ Spike pit ◦ A Monster ◦ A challenge of sorts. ◦ Feeling of Accomplishment
    3. Tools are what the player use to get to a goal.  Examples:  A Sword ◦ A Spell ◦ A Jump ◦ Your vocabulary…. ◦ ◦ Players must learn to use them properly.
    4. Goal:  ◦ Cake Tool:  ◦ Butter Knife Obstacle  ◦ Pencil
    5. The Player’s ability to fail and try again.  ◦ Its just a game. ◦ Examples:  Extra Lives  Health Bar ◦ Quest for perfection
    6. The process of acquiring skills and knowledge  though gameplay. This learning translates to similar games.  Isn’t easy to see. 
    7. A perfect line.  Too hard  ◦ Frustration Too easy  ◦ Boredom Just right makes everything fun. 
    8. Goal:  ◦ Shiny Star Obstacle:  ◦ Pit Tool:  ◦ Swing Rope Second Chance:  ◦ Extra Lives
    9. Create a game with a story around concepts.  Obstacle  ◦ Cat? Goal  ◦ A book? Tool  ◦ Ribbon?
