Silicate minerals and non-silicate minerals.

• Contains oxygen and silicon
• Feldspar-main component of most rocks on the earths surface
• Quartz-second main component in the Earth’s continental crust.

Occurred in nature in uncombined form .

Creates cement, building stone, and fireworks.

6. NON-SILICATE MINERALS
Halides- (fluorine, chlorine, iodine, or bromine)+
(sodium, potassium, or calcium)

Oxides- any elements + oxygen
