Brian Joros gave back to his community while living in Boca
Raton, Florida. From 2005 to 2009, Joros coached the baseball
team at West Boca Raton High School. Joros drew from his
experience as a collegiate baseball player for Purdue University,
and a brief professional career. He relished the opportunity to be
on the baseball diamond again, teaching young players how to
play the game that he loves.
2. Community Luminary
Brian Joros believes that community is just a word without
participation. It’s one thing to call oneself a member of a
community, and another to participate in it and help it grow.
Joros, while living in West Boca Raton, Florida, participated in
his community by coaching the West Boca Raton High School
baseball team from 2005 to 2009.

Brian Joros had a successful career as a
college baseball player, donning the
black and gold of the Purdue
Boilermakers. He was even drafted and
played briefly in the minor leagues.
After settling in West Boca Raton, he
coached the West Boca Raton High
School baseball team from 2005 to
2009, earning a win-loss record of 93-
3. National Grand Slam Baseball
Tournament
Brian Joros coached the West Boca
Raton High School baseball team to a
gaudy 93 wins and only 36 losses
during his tenure as coach from 2005
to 2009. Joros took the team to a
Regional Championship victory in
2007 currently runs the National
Grand Slam Baseball Tournament, in
which some of Florida’s best amateur
players compete annually.
A Life in Baseball
Brian Joros coached the West Boca High School baseball team to a
Regional Championship in 2007. He currently runs the West Boca
Fall League, a twelve-team Fall Baseball League Fundraiser. Over
the years, Joros has raised some fifty thousand dollars for the West
Boca High School baseball team. He has used his experience as a
collegiate player and minor league player to help his community.
4. National Grand Slam Tournament
Brian Joros founded the National Grand Slam Baseball
Tournament, a national event that includes teams from fourteen
different states. Joros is the director and the head of finances, and
he directs a sixteen-member Board of Directors, recruits teams
from outside the state, and maintains the tournament’s 503c
nonprofit status while courting corporate sponsors and outside
vendors. One of the joys of running the organization, he says, is
watching the players compete.
Coach of the Year
Brian Joros grew up with baseball, and
he continues to build his life around the
game. He played in college for the
Purdue Boilermakers, earning All Big
Ten Academic honors in 1998. He also
played professional ball in the minor
leagues. Since then, he has been involved
in coaching. Joros won the 2000 Osceola
County Baseball Coach of the Year.
