When I first started to learn about dating advice and then about business – I soon found out that there were some negative influences that would try to hold me back. I knew that if I was serious about becoming more successful, I was going to have to find people that were also on the same path that I was. There is a saying that goes, “you are the average of the five people that you hang out with the most.” If you are hanging out with highly motivated people that are trying to improve themselves, then you will also be motivated to improve. While on the other hand – if you're surrounded by people that are not motivated, it will also have an effect on you. Success Action Step #2: Surround yourself with successful people or those striving to be successful. Being surrounded by positive people will only push you to do better. Positive minded people actually enjoy it when other people are doing well, as compared to negative people that might become jealous of your accomplishments. A great place to find positive people that are working to become more successful is meetup.com Meetup is one of my favorite resources ever because it allows you to instantly find other people that are interested in the same things that you are. I have used meetup.com for help with relationships, to find business groups, and also fitness/martial arts groups. Action step: decide an area of your life where you would like to become more successful. Then join a meetup.com group based on your subject of interest. If you can't find a group on the subject that you're interested in – simply start your own group. Next... Do not be afraid. Fear is the main thing that holds a lot of us back from accomplishing what we want. It could be fear to approach someone that you find attractive, fear of leaving a job that you hate and starting a business, or fear about starting a new activity. Whatever the fear is – you should not let it stop you. Why? Because we all have the ability to adapt and survive. You will find a way to get through the tough times and overcome obstacles.
