19. Overhead ceiling hoist project
in St. Joseph’s Hospital, British Columbia,
Canada
1998: installation of 65 overhead ceiling
hoists in a regional hospital in
British Columbia, Canada.
2001: the follow-up investigation by the
Canadian Working Environment Authority
showed the following:
| Time
- A reduction of 58% in the number of transfer accidents
to care
- A reduction of the hospital’s costs related to transfer accidents from
$ 196,000 per year to $92,000
|
- In this case the installation of ceiling hoists had been recovered in only
3.9 years

“Between 2004 and 2005, the installation
to care
of more than 100 Guldmann ceiling lifts
at Christiana Care Health System helped
reduce injury costs by $1.2 million.”

Today Christiana Care Hospital have more
20 than 1.200 Guldmann ceiling lift systems
Guldmann solutions = positive economical outcomes
21. |Time to care|
are|
Good economy
• Fewer injuries among the staff and the patients
• Better use of staff / More time effectively
• Optimize the rehabilitation process
= fewer days in hospital
• Less use of medication
• More Time to Care
