This document provides information about grant opportunities for the transport sector through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). CEF provides funding for studies, works, innovation/technology, and other transport infrastructure projects across Europe. Funding amounts range from 20-50% depending on the type of project. The application process involves aligning projects with CEF criteria and goals, developing consortiums, and obtaining necessary approvals. • STUDIES INCLUDING PILOT DEPLOYMENT: first full scale demonstration of new technology
You can get 50% funding for ‘STUDIES’
For example:
• study activities towards the use of e.g. electricity, hydrogen, biofuels for road transport
• testing of innovative systems for ballast water exchange
• piloting of innovative urban mobility concepts
• demonstration of collaborative cargo bundling projects (non-road)

• collaborative efficiency investments in port infra and short sea shipping routes
• ‘last mile’ investments in infra for all modalities (rail, road, air, iww) as well as distribution infra for alternative fuels
• implementation of intelligent technologies to provide accessible and comprehensive traffic management information (ITS)
• implementation of SESAR and ERTMS
