Benchmarking may be defined as a technique in which a
particular practice or process is being studied upon in
relation to different ways in which various companies apply
it, in order to achieve optimum results.
Highlighting the best practices of various organizations and
trying to adapt those practices (if applicable) in our
organization may be called as best-practice benchmarking.
In corporate world, benchmarking is often adopted to
analyse why certain company is successful and to identify
the key areas in their own firm in order to improve.
•Best Practices resident in Toyota
•Ability to adapt, improve, and embrace change even during the harshest times.
•Innovation appreciated.
•Best Practices resident in Pizza Hut
•Customer satisfaction
•Personalised customer interactions
•Aggressive marketing and tie ups with local and popular brands
•Door step services
•Low pricing
•Great offers
•Excellent quality
•More outlets even in smaller towns
•Best Practices resident among Ants
•Discipline
•Union is strength
•Hardworking
•Proactive system
•Best Practices resident in Indian Army
• Courage
• Determination
• Organizing ability
• Cooperation among the soldiers
• Sense of responsibility
• Social adaptability
• Speed of decision
• Discipline
•Discipline
Discipline is a quality that plays an efficient role in the success of any individual or an
organization. It is adopted by almost all organizations in one or the other ways, but if
we talk about best of those than there is none better than Indian Army. Other than
corporate or rather we should say any human organization, there is an organization
who is known to be the best practitioners of discipline - they are Ants. This practice
can be implemented in a better way in our college to create a better environment for
education.
•Innovation
If innovation is not appreciated and accepted than the organization will work in
the same age old manner and there will be no improvement in the organization
and its condition will become rusty. Innovation is important to bring change. One
of the most successful companies, Toyota, appreciates the role of innovation and
every employee is asked to present a new idea before continuing their day’s
work. If college starts facilitating the innovative ideas of students, then education
level will improve along with the students self-confidence.
Better quality in products is always desired by customers and is the
ultimate goal of every organization. For a college, this means excellent
quality education being provided to students along with other
necessary facilities that are helpful in building a good environment for
studies.
•Excellent Quality
•Personalized customer interactions
This is a very efficient method to improve the organization
according to customers needs. Customer needs can give ideas that
can be useful for the betterment of organization. In college this can
mean what students expect from their college.
Every organization working for the public needs to be known by
the public for it to be successful. This can be achieved by
marketing about the organization and being tied up with
successful organizations related to the field.
•Effective Marketing and Tie Ups
•For marketing various communication media like radio, television,
newspapers, social networking sites could be effectively utilised for
advertisements.
•Various student exchange programs with renowned national and
international universities could be organized.
•Technical and cultural fests should be organized and hosted by the
university inviting students of other institutes to increase universities
popularity.
For Effective Marketing and tie ups
•For Excellent Quality
•For Personalized customer interaction
Feedbacks of every student could be taken at the end of every
semester, regarding their teachers, wardens, respective
departments they belong to, equipments provided in labs,
accounts department, regarding books in library etc.
•Lecturers from different renowned institutes and
experienced people from corporate should be called for
guest lectures.
•More and more workshops and seminars on latest
technologies should be organized for students as well as
teachers.
•Latest techniques should be used to explain the concepts
more clearly to the students.
• For Discipline
•Awards and Recognition could be given to the students for the
new projects they take up, to make the students feel motivated
about taking up new endeavors.
•Facilities and faculty should be there to help the students.
•Various competitions could be organized to bring out the
innovation of the students.
•Students should be judged beyond just their academic scores.
•For Innovation
•Rules of the organization must be supported by a system of useful
detention mechanism in which students could be asked to submit
a short research work on useful topics if they break the rules.
•A lot of positive feedback Should be provided to the students who
are kind, hardworking, sincere to motivate students to behave in a
better way and perform well
•Benchmarking must be done as it helps in analyzing the features which
may lead to the success of the organization.
•Discipline must be maintained in an organization ,because without
discipline all the things would be taken for granted and the organization
can not succeed.
•An organization must provide excellent quality of whatever it provides as
excellent quality attracts customers.
•Innovations must be done to make the organization up to date and not
rusty.
•Awareness about the organization must be spread.
•Personalized interaction with the customers must be done so that the
organization comes to know about the needs of the customers, it will
lessen the loss and increase the profit of the organization.
