Did you accept them without reading them? Many do, but what is in them that you should know?

7. TERMS OF USE (A SHORT SUMMARY)
You must be 13 years or older
You may not post: violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content.
Violation of the Terms of Use: may result in termination of account
“Instagram reserve the right to refuse access .. to anyone for any reason at any time.”

8. OWNERSHIP
Now that all seems reasonable, but did you know that… Instagram has: “a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub- licensable, worldwide license” on any and all of you photos.
In other words.. Instagram can do what ever they want with your photos, no questions asked, no payment or credit to you.

9. COPYRIGHT
If it is not yours,
or you don’t have the OK to use,
don’t post it

10. WHO OWNS INSTAGRAM?
What does that mean for you?
Your content & information will not be sold to “third parties outside Instagram (or the group of companies which Instagram is a part of)” ….. but it MAY SHARE your content & information.

15. PRIVACY
Did you know that if you use Third Party Applications, they will also track & collect your data?
They may:
Operate differently to Instagram’s privacy policy
Not be secure.
May access your personal data or other users information.
Spread malware that puts your computer at risk.
Share your information with others

16. FINALLY
Your ongoing use of Instagram constitutes your acceptance of the terms of use & privacy policy, even if they change or update the policies.

17. A WORD OF ADVICE
Be careful what you put on Instagram (or any social media platform)
Think before you post and share with the world.
Check you settings, are they public or private?
Be careful of copyright infringement. If unsure – don’t repost.
Remember : What you put on Instagram, you share access rights with Instagram! (and Facebook and their companies)
