Andrew W. Sheppard is a third-generation native of Fort Myers and has served the
Southwest Florida community since 1983, bringing more than 30 years of experience in
portfolio management and trust administration. He received his masters and bachelor of
business administration degrees from Florida Atlantic University and is a CERTIFIED
FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Mr. Sheppard’s role on the Synovus Private Client Group’s team is to provide
comprehensive investment management to high net worth individuals, families and
foundations, with a holistic focus on all facets of the client’s overall financial picture. The
Synovus Private Client Group has extensive experience addressing issues including
estate planning, effects of taxation, risk management, cash management and credit
needs. The goal is to provide coordinated, tax efficient and cost effective solutions for
the complex needs of a client relationship.
Prior to joining Synovus Trust Company N.A., Andy held senior level portfolio
management positions at SunTrust Bank, Investors Security Trust Company and
KeyBank. In 2003, he played a key role in organizing Investors’ Security Trust Company,
a state chartered trust company based in Southwest Florida. Along with noted economist
Dr. David Jones, Andy was responsible for the development and ongoing management
of the firm’s internal investment platform overseeing all facets of the program’s policies
and procedures as well as the proprietary equity screening process. Other key
responsibilities included construction, maintenance and monitoring of the equity and
fixed income working lists as well as oversight of block trading on their institutional equity
and fixed income trading platforms.
Earlier in his career, Andy also worked as a registered representative for a major wire
house as well as a fee-only registered investment advisor.

Stacy Schurter resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Minnesota her love of
Florida developed from summer vacations with her grandparents to the Tampa area.
She started working with Synovus Securities Inc. in 2013 as a Wealth Insurance
Consultant . Her role is to help our most valued clients with questions regarding
insurance solution and try to bring clarity to their benefits. She received her Bachelor of
Business Administration degree from University of Wisconsin – STOUT and is a
CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER (CLU) professional.
Mrs. Schurter’s role on the Synovus Private Client Group’s team is to provide
comprehensive insurance reviews to high net worth individuals, families and
foundations, with a holistic focus on all facets of the client’s overall financial picture.
Insurance can be an integral part of helping clients achieve their financial goals. From
protecting their assets to tax efficient ways of transferring their assets to the next
generation.
Sheldon Bernau resides in Pensacola and has served the Florida Panhandle community
since 1993, bringing more than 20 years of experience in investments, financial planning
and trust administration. He received his masters of accountancy from the University of
West Florida and is Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management
Accountant and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.
Mr. Bernau’s role on the Synovus Private Client Group’s team is to provide
comprehensive relationship management to high net worth individuals, families and
foundations, with a holistic focus on all facets of the client’s overall financial picture. The
Synovus Private Client Group has extensive experience addressing issues including

Mr. Bernau’s role on the Synovus Private Client Group’s team is to provide comprehensive relationship management to high net worth individuals, families and foundations, with a holistic focus on all facets of the client’s overall financial picture. The Synovus Private Client Group has extensive experience addressing issues including estate planning, effects of taxation, risk management, cash management and credit needs.
