In the start of 3rd year of PEACE in district Buner. The first dialogue was
organized on Dec 10th
, 2014 to form 1st LSO (Local Support Organization) in
district Buner under PEACE at GHS (Government High School) Jokhela UC
Gadezai. In this dialogue thirty five elected office bearers and key members of
nine functional MVO (Male Village Organizations) and SRSP staff (Distt
PMER, CLRO.SO and JSO) participated.
During dialogue the following outlines were shared with the participants and
briefed them in details.
 Prerequisites for LSO formation ( Active M/W COs, M/W/VOs in the
UCs)
 Objective of LSO formation in UC Gadezai
 Importance of LSO
 Process of LSO formation
 Designations details in LSO as per RSPs constitution
 Procedure for the selection of LSO's Executive body ( Proper
Election)

2. The second dialogue of LSO formation was organized in village Sultanas UC Gadezai at the office of Village Organization Youth Welfare Sultanas on Dec 13th
,
2014 at 2:00 Pm. In this dialogue executive body members and their designations were decided through election, name of LSO was unanimously agreed and office
venue and building was also done during the meeting. At the end Dec 17th
, 2014 was fixed for 3rd
dialogue to establish LSO-Ittihad Welfare Organization Gadezai.

3. The 1st
LSO (Local Support Organization) has been formed under EU PEACE program in UC Gadezai at GMS Bhai Kalay on Dec 17th
,2014, Tehsil
Dagar, and District Buner. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ehsanullah Khan, Advisor to SRSP Management, Mr. Ijaz Ali, DPM (District Program
Manager) Swat Region, Murad Ali, (DPM) Swat, Shahid Iqbal, SSO Buner, Shakeel Khan (Regional PMER) and in-charges of Swat, Shangla and
Malakand.
The formal ceremony started with the recitation of few verses from Holy Quran, followed by fatiha for the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar.
An activist of UC Gadezai welcomed the guests and shared the background of activities started with SRSP soon after military operation in 2009. Mr.
Shahid Iqbal (SSO Buner) introduced the distinguished guests with the participants present on the occasion.

4. The LSO “Ittihad Welfare Organization Gadezai” is formed in
UC Gadezai. The membership of LSO is 38. There are 3139 HH in
this UC while 2446 HH (78%) have been organized in the shape of
MCOs (73), WCOs (35), MVOs (9) and WVOs (4). Total
membership of MCOs is 1607, MM of WCOs is 839, MM of MVOs
is 178 and MM of WVOs is 60. Pukhutun, Gujar, Ajarh, others,
Mulan and Syedan are the major castes in the UC. Major source of
livelihood is agriculture, jobs, serving abroad, daily wage labor,
livestock rearing and driving.So far under EU PEACE program, 3
CPIs projects have been initiated in UC Gadezai. 2/3 CPIs are
complete while 1 is in progress.
The elected Chairman Kimia Zar and General Secretary Abdul Aziz of
LSO depicted their presentation and threw detailed lights on the UC Profile
and their planning for the sustainability of newly formed LSO.
Abdul Aziz disable skilled person is the example of inclusion of poor and
capable people to lead the LSO.
Mr. Ijaz Ali, DPM Swat Region took oath from the executive body members.
Those include chairman, General Secretary, Senior Vice Chairman, Deputy
General Secretary, Finance Secretary, Press Secretary and Office Secretary.

5. Mr. Ijaz Ali urged all members of LSO to be visionary and take
initiatives for the inclusion of people with disabilities, downtrodden
people, widows and other poor segments of the society.
Mr. Ehsanullah Khan, Advisor to SRSP management, addressed the
participants and urged to take their responsibilities seriously. He talked
about inclusion of poor and disadvantage groups in their COs. He also
stressed on LSO members to keep their COs active and start thinking
how to initiate developmental initiatives in their UC.
