World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization that works with children, families, and communities worldwide to address the causes of poverty and injustice. It was founded in 1950 by Dr. Bob Pierce to care for orphans in Asia and has since expanded to serve over 90 countries. In 2014, World Vision supported over 3.4 million sponsored children in 1660 communities, promoted the well-being of 420 million vulnerable children through advocacy and policy work, and assisted 10.7 million disaster survivors and refugees.
