education centres and private RTO's (Registered Training

and course, but typically range from IELTS 6 to IELTS 7.5

in Australia is usually an overall score of 6.5 with a
minimum score of 6 in each of the individual bands (or the

cost $70 to $250.

Scholarships cover full tuition fees, return air fare,

admissions to postgraduate programmes at Australian
institutions can apply for Endeavour Postgraduate
Scholarship Awards or International Postgraduate
Research Scholarships (IPRS).

Students
Visa
The Australian student visa permits you to reside in Australia for
educational purposes in a recognised institute for a total time period
of 5 years. It costs AU$ 560.
❏ Eligibility
❏ Before the application procedure starts, you need to have
already been accepted into one of the recognised
educational institutes (for a full time study in any course) of
their country.
❏ If you are a minor then you should have already organised
the necessary welfare engagements for your intended
staying period in Australia.
❏ Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement: The GTE or the Genuine Temporary
Entrant is a necessity which you need to prove to the Australian officials that you're
entering Australia with the pure intention of a temporary stay only, i.e. educational
purposes in this case. The statement has to be mandatorily written by the applicant only.
Along with the statement you also need to include the following :
❏ Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover should be shared when you file
an application for visa. All relevant important details regarding your OSHC must be
provided. You must procure OSHC for your own self as well as for any of the
dependants travelling along with you, beginning at least one week before your
course starts and extending upto the complete duration of your stay in Australia.
❏ Evidence of Financial Capacity: You need to provide evidence of the fact that you
can support yourself financially while your intended stay in Australia without
resorting to any illegal or in-genuine methods. This is an important evidence to
ensure you don't become a liability to the country.
❏ Character Requirements: A person wishing to enter Australia must be of good
intent and must not possess criminal records in their history.

Permit
❏ Unlike in some other English-speaking countries, there is
no automatic right associated with your student visa to
stay on and work in Australia after you get your degree.
When you receive your student visa, the government lets
you with the understanding that you will leave upon
completion of course and before the visa will expire.
❏ However, you can apply for work visas. You’ll need to
apply for a visa 485 Skilled Temporary Graduate Visa)
once your find a job. This visa is the most common option
available to international students after graduating. With a
485 visa, you are allowed to stay in Australia for 18
months to gain work experience, but only if you have
completed at least two years of study in Australia.
❏ Also, you need to earn at least $53,900 per annum to be
eligible enough to apply.

  • 3. ❏ A survey in 2012 even revealed that 88% of international student respondents are quite satisfied living in Australia. ❏ This is not surprising, as Australia is considered to be the fourth happiest country in the world. Besides, Australia, houses six of the forty best student cities in the world. ❏ Aside from these, the country and its government also make investments into international education. For example, there is more than $200,000,000 invested by the government annually for international scholarships.

Diploma in Australia ❏ The Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses take between one and three years to complete. ❏ They are generally considered to be equivalent to one to two years of study at degree level. ❏ Diploma and Advanced Diploma are titles given more practical courses. ❏ These courses are usually delivered by universities, TAFE (Technical and Further Education) colleges, community education centres and private RTO's (Registered Training Organisations).

The Australia Awards Scholarships cover full tuition fees, return air fare, living expenses and also student health cover. ❏ Postgraduate Scholarships – students seeking admissions to postgraduate programmes at Australian institutions can apply for Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship Awards or International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS).

  • 13. Students Visa The Australian student visa permits you to reside in Australia for educational purposes in a recognised institute for a total time period of 5 years. It costs AU$ 560. ❏ Eligibility ❏ Before the application procedure starts, you need to have already been accepted into one of the recognised educational institutes (for a full time study in any course) of their country. ❏ If you are a minor then you should have already organised the necessary welfare engagements for your intended staying period in Australia.
  • 14. ❏ Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement: The GTE or the Genuine Temporary Entrant is a necessity which you need to prove to the Australian officials that you're entering Australia with the pure intention of a temporary stay only, i.e. educational purposes in this case. The statement has to be mandatorily written by the applicant only. Along with the statement you also need to include the following : ❏ Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover should be shared when you file an application for visa. All relevant important details regarding your OSHC must be provided. You must procure OSHC for your own self as well as for any of the dependants travelling along with you, beginning at least one week before your course starts and extending upto the complete duration of your stay in Australia. ❏ Evidence of Financial Capacity: You need to provide evidence of the fact that you can support yourself financially while your intended stay in Australia without resorting to any illegal or in-genuine methods. This is an important evidence to ensure you don't become a liability to the country. ❏ Character Requirements: A person wishing to enter Australia must be of good intent and must not possess criminal records in their history.
  • 15. Work Permit ❏ Unlike in some other English-speaking countries, there is no automatic right associated with your student visa to stay on and work in Australia after you get your degree. When you receive your student visa, the government lets you with the understanding that you will leave upon completion of course and before the visa will expire. ❏ However, you can apply for work visas. You’ll need to apply for a visa 485 Skilled Temporary Graduate Visa) once your find a job. This visa is the most common option available to international students after graduating. With a 485 visa, you are allowed to stay in Australia for 18 months to gain work experience, but only if you have completed at least two years of study in Australia. ❏ Also, you need to earn at least $53,900 per annum to be eligible enough to apply.
