2. Geographically
Skardu is located in North of Pakistan and it is 10 kilometer wide and 40
kilometer long .
The confluence of indus river and shiger river.
Skardu is an altitude of nearly 2500 meters.
The town is surrounded by grey-brown coloured places.

3. History
History
The first mention of Skardu dates to the first half of the 16th century.
Mirza Haidar (1499–1551) described in his in the forties of the 16th century wrote
Tarikh-i-Rashidi Baltistan and called Askardu .
the conquest of Kashmir in 1586 by the Mughal Emperor Akbar (1556–1605) were
starting with Ali Sher Khan Anchan, the kings of Skardu mentioned as ruler of Little Tibet
in the historiography of the Mughal Empire.
After the long struggle Skardu got an independence from the mughal empire and Skardu
is a considered a single state since (1605 to 1947 ) and after Pakistan is created after that
Skardu was affiliated with Pakistan .
