Asplenium nidus can survive either as an epiphytal, or terrestrial plant, but typically grows on organic matter.
This fern often lives in palm trees or bromeliads, where it collects water and humus in its leaf rosette.It thrives
in warm, humid areas in partial to full shade.

Distribution:
Mainly in the
Old World
tropics.

are old trees.

They are perennial herbs, some climbing, with succulent stems and thick rhizomes or tubers;

(composed of several leaflets); they are commonly asymmetrical, with one side much larger than
the other. There are paired leafy stipules at the base.
